Mentoring USA engaged in an innovative and creative "Shoe Session" with PS 111 at Kenneth Cole Productions on Wednesday, April 15th. Kenneth Cole himself taught the mentees how to draw shoes and had them design their own on construction paper with the help of their mentor. All of the mentees got their own white canvas shoes (in their size!) and decorated them as well. Click here to read more!

MUSA's Young Professional Advisory Board Co-Chairman, Amanda Cole, leads the group in this fun and engaging activity. Kenneth Cole Productions has been involved with MUSA for 14 years.
March 2015: MUSA founder Matilda Raffa Cuomo visits @MentoringItalia and is greeted by children of the program. Founded in 1998, Sergio Cuomo serves as Mentoring USA/Italia president. Over the twelve years of activity more than 8,000 young Italians, working with as many volunteer Mentors, have benefited from the one-to-one method which is the basis of the educative intervention.
MUSA founder Matilda Raffa Cuomo attended mass celebrated by Pope Francis in Naples, Italy where he promoted peace and education for all children. Mrs. Cuomo also attended a memorial mass at the Cathedral of San Gennaro on Sunday, March 22, where she is pictured at right with a photo of her beloved late husband, Governor Mario Cuomo, of New York. The late Governor Mario Cuomo was a true champion of children and mentoring.
A new partnership was formed this year between the Archdiocese of New York and Mentoring USA. The Archdiocese has a tradition of providing educational opportunities in the communities in which they serve. Mentoring USA is joining with them in their mission by providing trained adult Mentors to support their students in developing better self-esteem, creating healthy relationships, and making positive life choices. The two program sites are in Harlem and kicked off this past fall.
February 27, 2015: Mentoring USA Executive Director Stephen Powell shared his expertise on strategies, successes and challenges of the Young Men's Initiative at their Community Convening today at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, in Harlem, NY.
