Can you make a one-year commitment to mentor a youth for one hour a week at school, foster care agency or community center in New York City? If yes, then move to Step 2. To learn more about our programs click here .
Review Mentoring USA's Program Sites, and find three locations that will fit with your interests and schedule. If you are able to identify a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd site preference, then move to Step 3.
Complete the Mentor Application, including three references and three site preferences. At current time we can only accept applications from mentors in the New York Metropolitan area.
Attend our New Mentor Training. When you come in for training you will complete paperwork in connection with a background check.
You will need to bring a valid state or federal issued ID to training.
During this training you will be fingerprinted.
Mentoring USA will make a site placement, based on your preference, 2 to 3 weeks after training upon the applicants successful completion of our background check and reference checks.
