New York, NY (Wednesday, June 3, 2015) – Stephen Powell, Executive Director of Mentoring USA, was honored to receive the Wall Street Alphas Charitable Foundation’s award. This award was presented at the SIP event held in the Greenberg Lounge at NYU’s Law School Vanderbilt Hall. Four distinguished and extraordinary men who mentor: Stephen Powell, Executive Director of Mentoring USA; Charles F. Coleman Jr., Founder of Edge NYC; Jerrell Antoine Horton, Founder of Suit Dreams; and Jermaine Wright, Director of CUNY Black Male Initiative.

“I was incredibly honored to be recognized by SIP and humbled to be in the midst of such courageous and noble colleagues like Charles Coleman Jr, Jerrell Antoine Horton and Jermaine Wright,” stated Stephen Powell.

SIP raised funds to support and develop programs that address the plight of young African-American and Latino-American men in the New York City area through the Alpha G.E.N.T.S. (Gaining Essential Networking Tools for Success) mentoring program.

The Wall Street Alphas Charitable Foundation engages minority and underserved communities to promote equality and human rights by encouraging community consciousness though financial literacy, health and wellness, and higher educational pursuit.
