Mentoring USA Shines the Spotlight on its Healthy Lifestyle & Self Esteem Initiative during National Mentoring Month
January 8, 2015 (New York, NY): Mentoring USA is proud to celebrate National Mentoring Month with the rest of the nation. This week, we have shined the spotlight on Mentoring USA’s Healthy Lifestyle and Self Esteem initiative.
Mentoring USA’s Healthy Lifestyle and Self Esteem initiative aims to have the mentor serve as a model for healthy lifestyle choices and to help increase the mentee’s self-confidence. Knowing the impact of poor food choices and physical inactivity, Mentoring USA’s Healthy Lifestyles and Self-Esteem initiative provides interactive activities to increase a child’s knowledge about nutrition, diet, physical activity, and the importance of sustainable health habits.
Mentoring USA’s Healthy Lifestyle initiative is supported through partnerships with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Dr. Mehmet Oz’s HealthCorps, and the Healthy Children Healthy Futures program.
