Commitment to Service
Each week, we’re highlighting one initiative that mentors and mentees take part in to build strong, supportive relationships. This week’s highlight is our commitment to community service. This Monday was the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service–click below to watch a commemorative video from our friends at WWE, and check out what our friends, partners, and supporters had to say about their commitment to community service!

Program Site Spotlight: Stanley M. Isaacs Community Center
This week’s featured program site is the Stanley M. Isaacs Community Center, a major multi-service social service agency founded in 1964 in the settlement house tradition. Their mission, in working with the poor, the isolated, and disconnected of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and abilities, is to promote social and physical well-being and encourage growth, self-reliance, and dignity throughout every stage of life.
Mentoring USA works closely with the youth services and partners with the Isaacs Center Beacon Program located at PS 198. This program offers a variety of services in a positive, healthy atmosphere for both youth and their families.
On January 21, mentors from all of our program sites met for an evening of fun, food, raffles, and networking.
